The short version
Framekeep runs on your computer. We do not run a server, there are no accounts, and nothing you record is sent to us. We cannot see your recordings, because they never reach us.
What Framekeep reads
- Recordings you give it. You paste one, drop one on the window, or point Framekeep at a folder to watch. It never goes looking on its own.
- Your clipboard, only when you paste. Framekeep reads the clipboard at the moment you press the paste shortcut or the paste button, and at no other time. There is no background clipboard monitoring, and there never will be.
What it keeps, and where
Everything Framekeep produces stays in folders on your own machine: frames, transcripts, and a small database listing what you have imported. Your original recordings are never moved or altered.
By default, recordings and the frames extracted from them are deleted after 7 days. You can change that period or switch deletion off in Settings. Framekeep only ever deletes files it created itself.
What leaves your machine
Frames you approve do leave. That is what Framekeep is for: handing the frames you have looked at to the AI client you are already using, so it can see what you mean.
Nothing is handed over until you have seen it. Framekeep shows you every frame, marks what looks sensitive, and waits. Where those frames go after your AI client receives them is governed by whoever makes that client, not by us.
Framekeep makes exactly one kind of network request, and only when you ask for it: downloading a speech-to-text model the first time you need one. It sends no telemetry, no usage statistics, no crash reports, and no identifiers of any kind.
Hiding sensitive information
Framekeep reads the text in each frame and flags things you probably do not want to send โ API keys, tokens, email addresses, card numbers, private keys โ plus any words you add yourself. You decide what gets blacked out, and you can draw over anything the scan missed.
The scan is a helper, not a guarantee. It reads text off pixels, and small or unusual text is genuinely hard to read. That is exactly why nothing is sent without you looking at it first: you are the part of this that does not miss things.
Children
Framekeep is a tool for software developers. It is not directed at children and collects no information about anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Because Framekeep collects nothing, there is no data of yours that a future version of this page could retroactively cover.
